SecurePort 2005 Report

SecurePort 2005 again brought together hundreds of executives from industry and Government from throughout the Western Hemisphere. Seeking to build on the foundations laid at SecurePort 2004, the 2005 agenda focused on building the strategic framework that is critical to the success of security operations in our hemisphere.

SecurePort 2005 paid special attention to the integration of the commercial transportation community in the processes of security planning and execution. Presenters representing a broad range of interests in the Marine Transportation System shared their experiences and insights on the manner in which security is affecting trade, and the best practices available to develop and increase security at ports and throughout the supply chain.

Again hosted by the Port of Miami, SecurePort 2005 benefited from the input of top industry executives, port directors, ocean carriers, supply chain experts, maritime labor, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs & Border Protection, U.S. Maritime Administration, the Organization of American States, and the International Maritime Organization.

SecurePort 2005 would like to extend its appreciation to the many supporters, sponsors, exhibiting delegates and attendees that made the 2005 conference a success. We look forward to seeing you at SecurePort 2007 - Hosted by the Port of Houston Authority (January 29-31, 2007) and working together again to forge continued achievements for the Marine Transportation System.
